👤 Position Overview

We are seeking a Director of Technical Services to lead our mission in Sierra Leone. This high-level role will oversee all technical operations, supply chain management, and implementation logistics in support of our national education programs. You will work closely with the Ministry of Education and service partners to ensure reliable, scalable learning through our tablet-based solutions.

🛠 Key Responsibilities

✔ Lead the country-wide technology strategy and infrastructure
✔ Oversee hardware/software deployment, repair, and maintenance
✔ Manage TSPs and ISPs (solar, internet, devices)
✔ Ensure hardware/software QA and version control
✔ Train IT teams, service providers, and government partners
✔ Manage data systems and ensure cross-platform accuracy
✔ Supervise school installations, inventory, and asset tracking
✔ Implement safety, theft prevention, and e-waste policies
✔ Optimize systems for long-term scalability and efficiency

✅ Requirements

🔹 10+ years in a senior technical/engineering role
🔹 5+ years managing teams, ideally in NGOs or nonprofits
🔹 Bachelor's degree in Engineering, IT, Supply Chain, or a related field
🔹 Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
🔹 Experience managing multi-vendor, multi-location IT projects
🔹 Deep understanding of hardware and software systems
🔹 Experience with iOS and Android; Mac OS is a plus
🔹 Familiarity with GitHub or similar platforms for issue tracking
🔹 Strong problem-solving, interpersonal, and training skills
🔹 Passion for educational equity and scalable impact
